Lucille Josephine McCormick

Lucille Josephine McCormick, 84, of 36 Porter St. died Friday at Williamstown Commons. Born in North Adams on March 31, 1922, daughter of Hugh and Lucy Dene McCormick, she attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School with the Class of 1940. She then graduated from the former Bliss Business College in 1944. She received her teaching certificate from Gregg College in Boston in 1944. Miss McCormick worked as a clerk for the former Brewer-Perkins Auto Agency, retiring in 1985. Previously, she had been employed by the former Gaevert's Film in Williamstown, and taught classes at the former Bliss Business College. She was a communicant of St. Francis Church. She was a volunteer for several years for the Be Our Guest Program with the Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion, and was a member of the Drury High School Class of 1940 reunion committee. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The memorial service and burial for Lucille J. McCormick, who died Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice through AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements. She was predeceased by two sisters, Clara M. McCormick and Elaine C. Lampro.
