Marie LaFontana McNeil, 85, of 148 Maple Ave. died Monday at Great Barrington Rehabilitation Center, where she resided since 1995. Born in Great Barrington on May 3, 1921, daughter of Frank and Lena Zamboni LaFontana, she attended local schools and was a graduate of the former Searles High School and Lowell State Teachers College. She taught music in Natick for the Farmington School District for close to 40 years, retiring in the late 1980s. She married Roderick McNeil in the mid-1940s and settled in Southborough. Mr. McNeil died in August 2000. Mrs. McNeil leaves a sister, Clemintine Fruett of Pittsfield. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mrs. Marie LaFontana McNeil, who died Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, will be on Dec. 1 at 9 from FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 at St. Peter's Church by the Rev. William Murphy, pastor. Burial will be at Rural Cemetery in Southboro with Morris Funeral Home handling the out-of-town arrangements.
