Cecile Margaret Descoteaux

Cecile Margaret Descoteaux, 90, of 49 Phelps Ave. died yesterday at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown. Born in North Adams on June 20, 1916, daughter of Phillip and Amanda Mousseau Descoteaux, she attended schools there. She was a former resident of Pittsfield. Miss Descoteaux was housekeeper at the former Notre Dame Rectory in Pittsfield for the Rev. Albert T. Beaudry for almost 30 years. Before that, she was employed by the former Strong-Hewat Woolen Mill in Clarksburg. Following her retirement from the church, she returned to North Adams. She was a daily communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church and a member of the Jollee Circle and Le Circle Français. She enjoyed playing cards. She leaves three sisters, Eva Maruco and Gloria A. Clermont, both of North Adams, and Anita Price of Vallejo, Calif. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Cecile Descoteaux, who died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 at St. Anthony's Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St., North Adams, will be Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Western Massachusetts. She also leaves nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Two brothers, Philip Descoteaux Jr. and Alcide Descoteaux, and a sister, Rita Rosch, are deceased.
