Gertrude E. Delaronde

Gertrude E. Delaronde, 90, of Chicopee died Wednesday at Holyoke Medical Center. She was the mother of Linda Hutton of Great Barrington. Born in Springfield on Sept. 10, 1916, daughter of Levi F. and Jennie Nowak Booth, she was a lifelong resident of Chicopee. Mrs. Delaronde was the bookkeeper for the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts for many years, retiring in 2000. She was a communicant of Grace Episcopal Church in Chicopee and a member of its Women's Guild. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and taking trips to Foxwoods Casino. Her husband, Victor Delaronde, died in 1993. Besides her daughter, she leaves another daughter, Susan Richardson of Berkley, Mich.; and three grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Gertrude Delaronde, who died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, will be Wednesday at 9 from Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St., Chicopee, with a Mass at 10 at Grace Episcopal Church in Chicopee. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gertrude's memory to Grace Episcopal Church, 156 Springfield St., Chicopee, MA 01013, or to Lorraine's Soup Kitchen, 35 Center St., Chicopee, MA 01013. She also leaves two sons-in-law, Mark and Gary; three grandchildren, Brian Hutton and his wife, Nancy, of Connecticut, and Emma and Eric Richardson, both of Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.
