Mary Palmieri Landy, 97, of Guilderland, N.Y., formerly of Pittsfield, died Thursday, Jan. 11 at Albany County Nursing Home, Albany, N.Y., of natural causes. Born Oct. 18, 1909 in Coeymans, N.Y., she was the daughter of Gennaro Palmieri and Angelina Russo Palmieri. Mrs. Landy worked as a cook in many restaurants in Berkshire County until her retirement. She was a former member of Christian Assembly in Pittsfield and a member of Colonie Christian Life Center in Colonie, N.Y. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Landy, who died in 1988. She leaves a son, Emilio Landy of Guilderland; a brother, Samuel Palmieri; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The wake for Mary Palmieri Landy, who died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, will be held Friday, Jan. 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a service to follow at the Colonie Christian Life Center, 31 Vly Road, Albany, N.Y. Officiating will be the Rev. Joseph M. Beretta, Mrs. Landy's nephew. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Colonie Christian Life Center, World Missions, P.O. Box 12273, Albany, N.Y. 12211.
