Edward E. Guay

Edward E. Guay, 81, of 37276 Edith St. died Friday at home. Born in Adams on May 26, 1925, son of George E. Guay Sr. and Alice LaChance Guay, he attended Cheshire and Lanesborough public schools. Mr. Guay was a Navy veteran of World War II, the Vietnam War and the Korean War. He retired as chief petty officer in 1967 after 20 years of service. Following his retirement, he was employed by Douglas Electronics Co. as a fabricator of sheet metal for use in circuit boards. His first wife, the former Geraldine Hatch, died in 1979. His wife, the former Dora Migvel, died in August 2003. He leaves two daughters, Linda L. Jayko of Pittsfield and Rita Marble of Newark, Calif.; a brother, Leonard Guay of Port Richey, Fla.; a half-brother, Larry Guay of Pittsfield; a sister, Eunice Wehrey of Cheshire; a half-sister, Patricia Wojick of Pittsfield; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Mr. Edward E. Guay, who died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, conducted by the Rev. William Havens. There will be no burial or calling hours. Among survivors are his grandchildren, Matthew, Anthony and Michelle Jayko and Brandon Marble. Mr. Guay also leaves several nieces and nephews. A brother, George Guay Jr., predeceases him.
