Thomas James Garner

Thomas James Garner, 58, of 585 State Road, died yesterday at home of natural causes. Born in North Adams on Aug. 21, 1948, son of James A. and Cecelia LaDouceur Garner, he graduated from Drury High School and from ITT Technical Institute in Boston with a degree in electronic drafting. Mr. Garner was employed by Gemini Drafting Co. in Pittsfield for about three years. Before that, he was group leader at the former Sprague Electric Co. for more than 10 years. He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, attending auctions and collecting antiques. Besides his parents, of North Adams, he leaves a daughter, Tammy L. Giorgi of North Adams; a son, Eric Garner of Albany, N.Y.; two sisters, Wendy Champney of North Adams and Susan Watson of Springfield, Mo.; three grandchildren; and his former wife, Delia Lepera-Martin of North Adams. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Thomas James Garner, who died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, will be celebrated Saturdayat 11 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Saturday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Mr. Garner leaves three grandchildren, Kara, Jenna and Joel Giorgi; his beloved friend, Kathleen Kulas of North Adams; and several nieces and nephews. He will be missed but never forgotten by his family.
