Harold G. Oles Jr., 78, of Park Circle Drive, died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 16, 1929, son of Harold G. Oles Sr. and Sara Benson Oles, he was a 1946 graduate of the former Dalton High School and a graduate of the former Berkshire Business College. He served in the Air Force from September 1946 to March 1948. Mr. Oles was employed by General Electric Co. in the chemical lab for 30 years. He was a member of Dalton United Methodist Church and enjoyed reconditioning furniture, playing golf and bowling. He leaves two sisters, Virginia Walsh of Dalton and June Munson of Enfield, Conn. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Harold G. Oles Jr., who died Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at BARTLETT WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Robert Jackson of the Dalton United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Dalton United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home, 525 Main St., Dalton, MA 01226. He also leaves his special friend, Nellie Galliher of Dalton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
