Leopoldo Cintron Jr.

Leopoldo Cintron Jr., 56, of 17 Pleasant St., the Barrett House, died Tuesday at home following a long illness. Born in Puerto Rico on Nov. 15, 1950, son of Dolores Diaz Cintron Ferrer and the late Leopoldo Cintron Sr., he graduated from high school in Philadelphia. He came to the Berkshires in 1986 and had resided in Adams for the past two years. Mr. Cintron was employed as a machine operator at various factories in the Philadelphia area. He retired in the mid-1980s due to poor health. He enjoyed playing dominoes and bowling. He was also a jai-alai player while in Puerto Rico. Besides his mother, of Pittsfield, he leaves a son, Leopoldo Cintron III of Philadelphia; four brothers, Juan and Henry Ferrer, both of Pittsfield, Segundo Cintron of Winter Haven, Fla., and Angel Ferrer of Holyoke; four sisters, Julia Cintron of Philadelphia, Inocencia Camacho of Inverness, Fla., Sonia Ferrer of Holyoke and Pasquala Ferrer of Northampton; and two grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Leopoldo "Leo" Cintron Jr., who died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 9 a.m. to the time of service at the funeral home.
