Erma Malnati

Erma Malnati, 96, of 689 Copper Hill Road, died March 10, at the home of her daughter, Marie Duryea, in Albuquerque, N.M. Born in Housatonic on Dec. 23, 1910, daughter of Maurice and Maria Veia Spadaccini, she attended schools in Housatonic and East Canaan, N.Y. Mrs. Malnati was employed by the former Winsted Hosiery in Winsted, Conn., and assisted her husband, Joseph A. Malnati, in the operation of their dairy farm, Cooper Hill Farm, until its sale in 1986. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Church and a member of its Women's Club. Her husband, whom she married Nov. 28, 1928, in St. Joseph's Church in Canaan, N.Y., died Aug. 2, 1994. Besides her daughter, Mrs. Malnati leaves a son, Antonio Malnati of Sheffield; another daughter, Laura A. Hill of Centerville; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Erma Malnati, who died Saturday, March 10, 2007, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley Church, conducted by the Rev. John Lis, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Great Barrington. Family will receive friends on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME. Expressions of sympathy in Erma's memory may be made to Our Lady of the Valley Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
