Irene K. Palmer, 81, of 17 Browns Road, Stephentown, N.Y., died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Lee on Feb. 22, 1926, daughter of John W. and Lena Lasher Wheeler, she attended Lee High School. Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Palmer had at one time worked in the laundry and dry cleaning business. Mrs. Palmer was an active member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She and her husband, Earl L. Palmer, were married July 21, 1962. Besides her husband, she leaves four daughters, Patricia Bean and Katherine Coniglia, both of Florence, Jonnie Jo King of Morgan Hill, Calif., and Jean Johnson of Hudson, N.Y.; a sister, Ruby Norse of West Stockbridge; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Irene K. Palmer, who died Sunday, March 18, 2007, will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Palmer may be made to the Stephentown Veterans, P.O. Box 612, Stephentown, N.Y. The DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, is in charge of arrangements.
