E. Mildred Patryn

E. Mildred Patryn, 91, of 3 Harding Ave., died yesterday at Williamstown Commons. Born in Danielson, Conn., on June 4, 1915, to Antoni and Mary Dziewanska Kordana, she came to this area as a child and attended schools in Windsor and Savoy. Mrs. Patryn was employed by North Adams Regional Hospital as a nurse's aide for 15 years, retiring in 1975. Previously, she had worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams and at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. She was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame and St. Thomas, and a member of the Blue Army and the Militia Immaculate of St. Maximilian Kolbe. Her husband, Stephen F. Patryn, whom she married June 10, 1939, died July 9, 1991. Mrs. Patryn leaves a daughter, Arlene Ouimet of Cheshire; a son, Stephen W. Patryn of North Adams; a sister, Helen Carr, of West Virginia; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A son, Bernard Patryn, died in 1975. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for E. Mildred Patryn, eldest of 11 children, who died Monday, March 26, 2007, will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Adams, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Catholic Parishes of Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are tomorrow from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army of North Adams or to Ecu-Health Care at North Adams Regional Hospital through the funeral home. Patryn and his wife, Linda, Michael Levesque and his wife, Stefania, Jonpierre Levesque and his wife, Tami, and Kelley Patryn; seven great-grandchildren, Mark and Jacob Patryn, and Elizabeth, Jenna, Jonpierre, Shaleigh and Justin Levesque; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Tammy Patryn, in 1986. Four brothers, Stanley, Casimer, Theodore and Zigmond Kordana, and five sisters, Rose Jordan, Helena Kordana; Stacia Tirrell, Helen Kordana and Janet DeGray, are also deceased.
