Ernest Charles Gregory, 79, of 44 Mohawk Forest Blvd., died Tuesday at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in North Adams on Nov. 20, 1927, son of Ernest J. and Margaret Hughes Gregory, he attended the former St. Joseph's school and graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 1945. Mr. Gregory was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 62nd Military Police Platoon as a private, 1st class. He was decorated with the World War II Victory Medal. He was employed by Sprague Electric Co. for many years. He was a communicant of St. Francis' Church in North Adams. Mr. Gregory and his wife, the former Virginia Buda, were married June 30, 1951, in St. Anthony's Church. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Robert G. Gregory of Clarksburg and Ernest J. Gregory of Colorado, and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Ernest C. Gregory, who died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, will take place Saturday at 10:45 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. It will be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Francis' Church. Burial will take place at a later date in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours are the funeral home are tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested for the American Heart Association through the funeral home. Mr. Gregory was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He also leaves four grandchildren, Ian, Jacqueline, Andrew and Emma-Margaret Gregory, and several nieces and nephews.
