Muriel L. Raimer

Muriel L. Raimer, 72, of 5A Melrose St., died Friday at home. Born in Raymond, Wash., on Feb. 23, 1935, daughter of Alexander and Myrtle Scutvick Orkney, she graduated from Raymond (Wash.) High School with the class of 1953. She then attended Grays Harbor Junior College in Aberdeen, Wash. Mrs. Raimer was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged in 1956. She was employed as a legal secretary by Western Massachusetts Legal Services in Pittsfield. She attended St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Her husband, Matthew C. Raimer Sr., whom she married Nov. 12, 1955, died March 13, 1974. Mrs. Raimer leaves three sons, Matthew C. Raimer Jr., of Rollinsford, N.H., Steven M. Raimer of Cheshire, and Anthony B. Raimer of Dalton; three daughters, Elizabeth M. Ziemba of Adams, Muriel Raimer of New Fairfield, Conn., and Patricia R. Schneider of Coventry, Conn; a brother, Alexander Orkney; and three sisters, Geraldine, Alene Stroczyk, and Elizabeth Kuttel, all of the state of Washington; 20 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Muriel Raimer, who died Friday, April 20, 2007, will be held tomorrow at 6 p.m. in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, conducted by the Rev. R. Ellen White, priest-in-charge of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are tomorrow from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial donations may be made to Northern Berkshire Community Action through the funeral home. Mrs. Raimer also leaves several nieces and nephews and was predeceased by a sister, Anna Marie.
