Elizabeth A. Holcomb

Elizabeth A. Holcomb, 59, of Christian Hill Road, died Sunday at Fairview Hospital. Born in Burlington, Vt., on May 5, 1947, daughter of Clarence L. and Elsie G. Hill Fleming, the family moved to Mill River in the early 1960s where she attended local schools and graduated from Mount Everett Regional High School. Ms. Holcomb moved to Great Barrington where she worked as a certified nurses aide at Timberlyn Heights Nursing Home and at Great Barrington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for 27 years, retiring in December 2004. She enjoyed crocheting and was a NASCAR fan. She leaves two daughters, Melissa Litourneau and Michelle Havill, both of Great Barrington; eight sisters, Kathleen Blodyga of Great Barrington, Evelyn Sackett of Canaan, Conn., Janice Calkins of Natick, and Arlene Brown, Bertha Benjamin, Wanetta Stalker, Theresa Bougor and Sandra Tebbetts, all of Vermont; three brothers, William Fleming of Canada, Thomas Fleming of Sandisfield and Michael Fleming of Mill River; and six grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Elizabeth A. Fleming Holcomb, who died Sunday, April 29, 2007, will be held tomorrow at 4 p.m. at FINNERTY AND STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, Great Barrington, with the Rev. Charles VanAusdall officiating. The family will receive friends before the funeral from 2 until 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Holcomb leaves six grandchildren, Casey, Dillon and Trevor Litourneau, and Colin, Sarah, and Ryan Havill. She was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn Tullar; a brother, Clarence Fleming Jr.; and a grandson, Kyle C. Litourneau.
