Norma Smith Twiss Paget

Norma Smith Twiss Paget, 86, of East Road, died Monday at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington. Born in Great Barrington on Jan. 11, 1921, daughter of Ernest and Bertha Blood Smith, she was educated in Great Barrington schools and graduated from the former Searles High School in 1938, and from the Mildred Elley Business School in Albany, N.Y. Mrs. Paget was a secretary at Sheffield Plastics Inc. for many years, retiring in 1988. She served as town clerk for the Town of Alford from 1990 to 1996. She was a member of the Alford Garden Club, the Thursday Morning Club, and was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church in Great Barrington. She married Geoffrey Paget on Jan. 11, 1984, at the First Congregational Church; he died March 22, 2003. She leaves two sons, Stephen A. Twiss, of Bremerton, Wash., and Clifford A. Twiss, of Housatonic; four step-children; four grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service for Norma Smith Twiss Paget, who died Monday, April 30, 2007, will be held Fridayat Greenlawn Cemetery, Housatonic, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Charles VanAusdall officiating. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made in Norma Paget's memory to either the First Congregational Church, Great Barrington, or to the Southern Berkshire Elderly Transportation Corp., in care of the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230. She is survived by two daughters-in-law, Rebbecca Twiss of Bremerton, Wash., and Doreen Twiss of Stockbridge; four grandchildren, Jason Twiss of Washington, D.C., Jennifer Twiss of Boston, Lizbeth Bayliss of Port Orchard, Wash., and Kirsten Twiss of Verndale, Wash.; a great-granddaughter, Molly Twiss; and a nephew George Stenner of Sheffield. She was predeceased by a sister, Ernestine Stenner.
