Kaare Nils Francis

Kaare Nils Francis, 51, of Estero, Fla., died Tuesday at Southwest Regional Medical Center in Fort Myers, Fla. Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 18, 1955, son of the late Burton Francis Jr. and Violet "Terry" Ramsvic Francis, he was a graduate of Taconic High School. He also trained under several local chefs. A professional chef, he was employed by The WIlliam Henry Inn for many years. Mr. Francis was a member of South Congregational Church. He enjoyed preparing fine meals, animals, fishing, golf and boating. Besides his mother, of Estero, Fla., he leaves a son, Kaare C. Francis of Pittsfield; two sisters, Deborah Francis of Davis, Calif., and Karen Francis Tohen of Indianapolis; and a brother, Burton Francis III of Hinsdale. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Kaare Francis, who died Tuesday, May 1, 2007, had an enormous heart and would do anything for anyone. He continued to live generously throughout his years and will be missed dearly. A celebration of his life will be held tomorrow at Hope Church in Naples, Fla., with local services planned for this summer. He also leaves eight nieces and nephews, and a friend, Irene Dunn of Naples, Fla. Donations in his memory may be made to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter, 63 Downing Pkwy., Pittsfield, MA 01201.

Kaare, you were a great cousin! Always so kind and ready to do anything for anyone. I miss you and think of you all the time. I am sure you are cooking those wonderful meals for everyone up in heaven with you. I know we will meet again some day. Love and miss you.
