Sandra Irene Hamilton

Sandra Irene Hamilton, 64, of 21 Crossway St., Apt. 205, formerly of McNerney Road, Becket, died Saturday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield after a long illness. She moved to Lee a year ago. Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 10, 1943, daughter of Norman and Irene Pratt O'Brien, she attended schools in Becket and Dalton and was a 1960 graduate of the former Dalton High School. Mrs. Hamilton was employed by Quality Inn in Lenox for 15 years as head housekeeper, retiring in 2004 because of poor health. She was a member of Becket Federated Church and a 20-year emergency medical technician for Becket Ambulance. She enjoyed cooking, knitting and farm animals. She leaves a son, Matthew P. DeChaine of Pittsfield; a daughter, Danielle M. DeChaine-Morris of Fayetteville, N.C.; a sister, Joyce Popek of Huntington; three brothers, Donald O'Brien of Cheshire, David O'Brien of Otis and Gregory O'Brien of Huntington; three grandchildren; and her former husband, Ernest DeChaine of Lanesborough. FUNERAL NOTICE -- the funeral for Sandra I. Hamilton, who died Saturday, May 5, 2007, will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at Becket Federated Church by the Rev. Michael C. Nash, pastor. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Sandra is lovingly survived by her three grandchildren, Ryan DeChaine, and Nicholas and Kevin Morris; her daughter-in-law, Dolores DeChaine; and her son-in-law, Steven Morris. She was predeceased by a brother, Norman O'Brien. DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main St., Dalton, is handling arrangements.
