Ruth Ester Critelli

Ruth Ester Critelli, 89, of 15 Tyler St., died yesterday at Williamstown Commons. Born in Bennington, Vt., on March 31, 1918, daughter of Ronald and Laura Packard Morris, she moved to North Adams as a child and attended schools there. Mrs. Critelli worked for many years at the former Treet Cleaners. She was a member of First Baptist Church and of the Take Off Pounds Sensibly organization. She and her husband, Joseph T. Critelli, would have celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary Aug. 26. Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Diane M. Cyr of Williamstown, Ruth Jane Martin of Williamstown and Dorothy Lescarbeau of Bradenton, Fla.; a sister, Irene Hartman of Williamstown; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Ruth Ester Morris Critelli, who died Monday, May 28, 2007, will be private and at the convenience of the family at First Baptist Church, North Adams. Burial, in Southview Cemetery, also will be private. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to North Adams First Baptist Church through AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 46 North Church St., North Adams, which is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Critelli was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She also leaves two sons-in-law, Rene Cyr and James Martin; nieces and nephews; and her very devoted friend, Rena DeMarisco of North Adams. She was predeceased by two brothers, Walter and Kenneth Morris, and by five sisters, Stella Aldrich, Dorothy Rich, Lillian Morris, Helen Ronan Smith and Lucille Mille.
