Bernadette M. Jones, 82, of 76 Myers Ave., died Sunday at her home. Born in Granby, QuÃ©bec, on Dec. 3, 1924, daughter of Hector and Delia St. Amand Foisy, she moved to North Adams as a child and attended schools there, including the former Notre Dame Elementary and High School. Mrs. Jones was employed by Sprague Electric Co. as a check inspector for 38 years, retiring in 1986. She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church. She was also a member of the Le Cercle FranÃ§ais and the Clarksburg Senior Center. Her husband, Millard C. "Sonny" Jones, whom she married Feb. 14, 1942, died Oct. 1, 1992. She leaves four daughters, Caroline Micek of Poinciana, Fla., Madeline Smachetti of Adams, and Evelyn Hernandez and Jennifer O'Connell, both of North Adams; three brothers, Jean Paul Foisy and Leonard Foisy, both of Adams, and Hector Foisy of Clarksburg; and a sister, Blanch Russett of Williamstown. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Bernadette Jones, who died Sunday, May 27, 2007, will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. from AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 46 North Church St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 in St. Anthony's Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children through the funeral home. Mrs. Jones also leaves four sons-in-law, Ronald Smachetti, Jose Hernandez, Christopher O'Connell and Robert Micek; five grandchildren, James P. Shea of Clarksburg, Marc J. Micek of Las Vegas, Kate L. Smachetti of Rumford, R.I., Lauren C. Smachetti of Adams and Grace O'Connell of North Adams; a great-granddaughter, Mina Micek of Las Vegas; and several nieces and nephews.
