Mary C. Dailey

Mary C. Dailey, 86, of 1226 Massachusetts Ave. died Wednesday at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown. Born in North Adams on Jan. 4, 1921, daughter of Frank and Lucy Scavo DePari, she graduated from Drury High School. Mrs. Dailey was employed for many years by Molly's Bakery, retiring in the early 1990s. Before that, she worked at the former Sprague Electric and Wall Streeter Shoe companies. She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and a member of its Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Children of Mary and a volunteer at the Hope Chest. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, baking, crafts and reading. Her husband, Edward J. Dailey, whom she married Aug. 23, 1947, died Aug. 31, 1983. She leaves a daughter, Debra A. Little of North Adams, with whom she made her home; a son, Edward R. Dailey of Fairbanks, Alaska; two sisters, Catherine Crockwell of North Adams and Norma Napolitan of West Springfield; and two grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mary DePari Dailey, who died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at Sweet Brook Care Centers surrounded by her family, will be Saturday, June 2, at 8:30 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St., North Adams, with a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church celebrated by the Rev. Gary M. Dailey, her nephew, who is director of vocations for the Diocese of Springfield. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home. Survivors include a son-in-law, Bruce Little; two grandchildren, Scott C. Little and his wife, Julie, of Adams, and Katie M. O'Neill and her husband, Chad, of North Adams; and nieces and nephews. Three sisters, Florence DePari, Rita Quinton and Theresa DePari, are deceased. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family.
