Percy G. Dodge

Percy G. Dodge, 50, of 152 School St., died Tuesday at home after a short illness. Born in Marlboro, Vt., on April 25, 1957, son of Ralph Dodge and the late Ilene O'Dell Dodge, he graduated from Gabriel Abbott Memorial School in the town of Florida and, in 1976, from Charles H. McCann Technical School in North Adams. An Army veteran, he served in Germany with the 536th Military Police and was honorably discharged as a sergeant. Mr. Dodge was an operating engineer with Local 98 and drove a truck for various local companies. Previously, he was employed by Pittsfield Sand and Gravel Co. and by Vincent Trucking Co., both in Pittsfield, as a truck driver. He was a member of Polish Falcons Nest 580 and a fan of NASCAR. He enjoyed camping. He and his wife, the former Margaret M. Rupinski, were married June 24, 1994. Besides his wife and father, of the town of Florida, he leaves two sons, Christafer R. Dodge of Pittsfield and James Dodge-Rossher of Bindlach, Germany; two stepdaughters, Laurie Iacovelli of Chester and Jennifer Hadsell of Pittsfield; a stepson, Daniel Hadsell of Great Barrington; three sisters, Julie Bernier of Lanesborough, Janet Bartlett of the town of Florida and Cheryl Dabrowski of Adams; a brother, Kevin R. Dodge of the town of Florida; a stepbrother, John W. Green of Shaftsbury, Vt.; and 10 grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Graveside service with military honors for Percy G. Dodge, who died Tuesday, May 29, 2007, will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the family plot in Cheshire Cemetery by the Rev. William Wilson. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested for the Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Dodge also leaves a daughter-in-law, Sally Dodge; a stepson-in-law, Robert Iacovelli; two brothers-in-law, Timothy Bartlett and David Dabrowski; a sister-in-law, Judi Dodge; and several nieces and nephews.
