Nancy Marie Pierce

Nancy Marie Pierce, 74, of 90 Veazie St., died Sunday at home of cancer. Born in Adams on June 30, 1932, daughter of Alice Alarie Davis Sweeney, she was a 1950 graduate of the former Adams High School. Mrs. Pierce and her husband, Theodore Pierce, owned and operated the former Ted Pierce Oil Co. for many years. She retired in 1990. Before that, she was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and enjoyed bowling and spending time at her cottage in Cambridge, N.Y. She and her husband were married May 24, 1952, at Notre Dame Church in Adams. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Sherry Armitage of Lake Orion, Mich., and Erin Pierce of Medina, Ohio; and a grandson. A son, Neil Pierce, died in 1996. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Nancy Marie Davis Pierce, who died Sunday, June 3, 2007, will be Thursday, June 7, at 10:15 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St., North Adams, with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will be at a later date in Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Donations may be made to the VNA & Hospice of North Berkshire or to North Adams Regional Hospital, both in care of the funeral home. She had a tremendous sense of humor and, above all, loved her family. She was greatly loved by her family and many friends. She also leaves her son-in-law, James Armitage; a grandson, Timothy Armitage of Mars, Pa.; and her sister- and brother-in-law, Barbara and Robert White of Williamstown. Two sisters are deceased.
