David R. Hill

David R. Hill, 79, of Lake Mansfield Road, died Monday at Bridgeport (Conn.) Hospital. He spent summers as a child in Great Barrington and retired to the house built by his grandfather. Born in New York City on Nov. 18, 1927, son of John and Josephine Vigezzi Hill, he grew up on Long Island, N.Y., and attended high school there. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont and his master's from New York University. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the 501st Parachute Infantry. Mr. Hill was a certified public accountant and worked as a manager of special audits and projects for the New York Power Authority. He leaves a daughter, Laurie Howe of Parksburg, Pa.; two sons, Andrew Hill of Ridgefield, Conn., and Alexander Hill of Chaplin, Conn.; a sister, Elizabeth Lawder of Great Barrington; and nine grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service with military honors for David R. Hill, who died Monday, June 4, 2007, will be held Saturday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington, Mass. Calling hours will be tomorrow, June 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA. He also leaves two daughters-in-law, Patricia (Andrew) and Anjanette (Alexander); and nine grandchildren, David, Victor, Daniel and Caleb Howe, and Andrew, Vanessa, Christopher, Fiona and Remy (David Ramsay) Hill.
