Marjorie Claire Robare

Marjorie Claire Robare, 79, of 45 Spring St. died Friday at North Adams Commons, where she was admitted June 1 after suffering a stroke. Born in North Adams on Oct. 5, 1927, daughter of Clarence B. and Ora Roberts Robare, she graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School in 1946 and from the former St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. A registered nurse, Miss Robare was employed by North Adams Regional Hospital as a supervisor from 1962 to 1990. After retiring, she worked part time at Willowood Nursing Home in Williamstown until 1997. Previously, she worked for the late Drs. Rose and Bowmen, at Taunton State Hospital and at Cooley-Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and, previously, of the former Our Lady of the Incarnation Church. She was a Third Order Carmelite at Mount Carmel in Williamstown and a member of the American Nurses Association. She enjoyed reading and playing Scrabble. She leaves her niece and caregiver, Sharon Tessier Levesque of North Adams, and other nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Marjorie C. Robare, who died Friday, June 8, 2007, will be conducted Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the family plot at Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations are suggested for the charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home. Miss Robare also leaves two sisters-in-law, Patricia and Martha Robare, both of North Adams, and grandnieces and grandnephews. Five brothers, Alfred, Neal, Earl, Donald and Norman Robare, and a sister, Lois J. Tessier, are deceased. Miss Robare enjoyed spending time with her family.
