Daniel Shmulsky

Daniel Shmulsky, 52, of Woodedge Lane, died Monday at his home of diabetes. Born in Great Barrington on July 12, 1954, son of Mildred Tatsapaugh Shmulsky and the late Alexander T. Shmulsky, he graduated from Mount Everett High School in Sheffield and graduated from Quinnipiac College in Connecticut, where he earned a degree in hospital administration. At one time, Mr. Shmulsky lived in Bridgeport, Conn., where he worked at Park City Hospital as a maintenance administrator. Mr. Shmulsky enjoyed gardening, caring for trees, flowers and spending time in his yard. He was a Yankees fan. Besides his mother, of Sheffield, he leaves three sisters, Cheryl Kane of Ashley Falls, Ellen Sable of Princeton, Maine, and Nancy Shmulsky of Pittsfield; and two brothers, Ted Shmulsky of New Marlborough and Stephen Shmulsky of Sheffield. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Daniel Shmulsky, who died Monday, June 18, 2007, will be conducted Saturday at 11 p.m. at Greenwoods Community Church on Clayton Road in Ashley Falls by the Rev. Edward Eastman, pastor. There will be no calling hours. Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Shmulsky later returned to his hometown of Sheffield and built a home where he resided with his two kitties, Daisy and Wiggles. He loved his Yankees jacket, which he received from Derek Jeter's parents, whose dogs he walked. He had a kind heart and was good to his family. He would call to check on them just to see how they were doing. He also leaves numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.
