Flora Delia Burnette

Flora Delia Burnette, 97, of Treasure Island, Fla., formerly of Adams, died Sunday at Alhambra Health and Rehabilitation Center in St. Petersburg, Fla. Born in Clarksburg on June 14, 1910, daughter of Fabian and Obeline Castanguay Thouin, she attended local schools and lived in North Adams and Adams until moving to Florida in 1999. Mrs. Burnette was employed by the former Wall Streeter Shoe Co. in North Adams for many years. She was a member of First Congregational Church and past president and treasurer of the Burnette-Bednarz Post 1995 Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies' Auxiliary. Her husband, Richard G. Burnette, to whom she was married 44 years, died in 1990. She leaves a son, Richard Lawson of Adams; a daughter, Nancy Furlong of Treasure Island; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Another son, Bernard Lawson, is deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Flora Thouin Burnette, who died Sunday, June 17, 2007, will be conducted Tuesday, June 26, at 10 a.m. at First Congregational Church of Adams by the Rev. Michael Mullany, pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours at PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, will be Monday, June 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. Mrs. Burnette also leaves nieces and nephews.
