George E. Frulla

George E. Frulla, 82, of 80 Richmond Ave., died Tuesday at home. He was a former member of the Zoning Board of Appeals and of the building committee in the construction of Lee High School. Born in Williamsburg on Nov. 15, 1924, son of Salvatore and Rose Serafini Frulla, he graduated from Lee High School in 1941 and from Norwich University in 1950 with a degree in engineering. An Army veteran of World War II, he served from November 1942 to January 1946. He was also a member of the Army Reserve until 1953 and was discharged as a second lieutenant. After college, Mr. Frulla was employed by the former Smith Paper Co. as a mechanical engineer, He retired in 1986 from Kimberly-Clark Corp. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of Berkshire Hills Council 314 Knights of Columbus. He and his wife, the former Mary E. Sheehan, would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary July 18. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, James E. Frulla of West Simsbury, Conn., and David M. Frulla of Darien, Conn.; two daughters, Andrea M. O'Shaughnessy of Medfield and Laura Annand of Hollis, N.H.; a sister, Gloria Murray of Medfield; and seven grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for George E. Frulla, who died Tuesday, June 19, 2007, will be Friday, June 22, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Lee. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours at KELLY FUNERAL HOME will be tonight from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to St. Mary's Church or to the American Cancer Society, both in care of the funeral home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238. He also leaves his grandchildren, Ryan, Emily, Sarah, Paul, Jennifer, Christopher and Monica. He was predeceased by his brothers, Mario and Anthony, and by his sister, Florence Arment.
