Josephine Kozchuk

Josephine Kozchuk, 103, of 175 Dalton Ave., died Tuesday at home. Born in Pluhov, Austria, on Dec. 25, 1903, daughter of Harold and Mary Dydynczuk, she emigrated to the United States at the age of 4 and resided in Amenia, N.Y. She moved to Pittsfield as a teenager. Mrs. Kozchuk was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Church and its oldest member. Her husband, Anthony Kozchuk, whom she married in January 1930 in Pittsfield, died Jan. 3, 1981. She leaves a daughter, Helen Kozchuk, with whom she resided. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Josephine Kozchuk, who died Tuesday, June 19, 2007, will be celebrated tomorrow, June 22, at noon at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church by the Rev. Robert E. Markovic, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 10 a.m. to noon at DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield. If friends desire, donations may be made in her memory to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, in care of the funeral home.
