Elizabeth C. Ullrich, 78, of Sheffield Plain Road died Sunday at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington. Born in Sheffield on June 29, 1929, daughter of Peter and Katherine McDonnell Cassidy, she attended local schools and was a graduate of the former Sheffield High School. Mrs. Ullrich was a homemaker. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Church and enjoyed horseback riding. Her husband, Robert Ullrich, whom she married July 9, 1949, at Our Lady of the Valley Church, died in 1988. She leaves three sons, Vincent Ullrich of Brunswick, Maine, and Robert "Tony" and John Ullrich, both of Sheffield; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Donations in memory of Elizabeth C. Ullrich, who died Sunday, July 1, 2007, may be made to Sheffield Volunteer Hose Company No. 1 in honor of her husband, who volunteered there for many years. She also leaves three daughters-in-law, Carolyn (Robert), Judy (John) and Candace (Vincent). A brother, James Cassidy, is deceased. She also enjoyed birds, cats and dogs.
