Lauretta M. Loughman

Lauretta M. Loughman, 82, of 1 Berkshire Square died Thursday at home. Born in Northampton on May 29, 1925, daughter of David and Yvonne Brais Jones, she graduated from St. Michael's Elementary School and, in 1942, from St. Michael's High School there. She lived in Chicopee for 54 years. She moved to Adams in 2002. Following graduation, Mrs. Loughman worked as a waitress and as a bookkeeper. She was primarily a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church. While in Chicopee, she was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church. She enjoyed cooking and reading. Her husband, James M. Loughman, whom she married May 15, 1948, died Nov. 23, 2002. She leaves a son, James R. Loughman of Adams, and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Lauretta M. Loughman, who died July 12, 2007, will be Tuesday, July 17, at 9 a.m. from PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Northampton. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus Kostka School through the funeral home. She also leaves her grandchildren, Zoe, Martin, Alicia and Thomas Loughman, all of Adams; her daughter-in-law, Robin Loughman of Adams; her brother- and sister-in-law, Richard and Elizabeth Loughman of Springfield; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
