Edward L. Dennison Sr., 66, of Root Lane died Sunday at home. Born in Penn Yan, N.Y., on Sept. 20, 1940, son of Emory and Mable Styles Dennison, he attended Ockawamick High School in Penn Yan. He moved to Great Barrington in 1959 and began working for Rising Paper Co. in 1962, where he worked as a machine operator until 1977. Later, he went on to Custom Excursion in Sheffield, where he worked until his retirement in 2000. He also worked as a self-employed carpenter from 1977 to 1984. Mr. Dennison enjoyed woodworking. He built several homes, including his own. He also enjoyed building model ships and gardening. He and his wife, the former Kathleen B. Peck, were married 28 years. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Edward L. Dennison Jr. and Peter R. Dennison, both of Tuscalusa, Ala.; two daughters, Kamilia M. Ball of Tuscalusa, Ala., and Amanda J. Dennison of Sheffield.; three sisters, Margaret Robbins, Linda Bogart and Bonny Harrington, all of South Carolina; and a brother, William Dennison of Addison, N.Y.; and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Edward L. Dennison, who died Sunday, July 15, 2007, will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home in Great Barrington. Edward was predeceased by his sisters, Pearl Pettit and Janet Styles.
