Eleanor C. Maynard Sturtevant, 88, of 1 Sturtevant Road and North Adams Commons, died yesterday at North Adams Commons. Born in Boston on March 25, 1919, daughter of the Herbert and Sarah Allen Maynard, she attended schools in Adams. She was a lifelong resident of Savoy. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Adams. Mrs. Sturtevant was a homemaker. Her husband, Walter E. Sturtevant, died June 23, 1983. They were married Dec. 26, 1936. She leaves a son, Roy Sturtevant of Savoy; four daughters, Carol Andrews of Adams, Jean Miller of Arnold, Md., Sharon Rice of Savoy and Linda Hoover of Adams; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. A son, Walter Sturtevant, and a daughter, Judy Sturtevant, are deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Eleanor C. Sturtevant, who died Monday, July 16, 2007, will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, with the Rev. Donald E. Gray, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Tomb Cemetery, Savoy. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Sturtevant also leaves a daughter-in-law, Donna Sturtevant of Savoy; three sons-in-law, David Miller of Arnold, Md., Joseph Rice of Savoy and Steven Hoover of Adams; also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a great-grandson, Keith Walter Miller; and two sisters, Elizabeth Garton and Joan Buell.
