Jeannette E. Trudeau

Jeannette E. Trudeau, 82, of 30 Silver St., died yesterday at Fairview Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Clarksburg on June 25, 1925, daughter of Albert and Zenaide LaPlante Brooks, she was a 1944 graduate of Drury High School. She attended Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee and the Cadet Nurse Corps at the former St. Luke's Hospital in Pittsfield. Mrs. Trudeau worked as a private duty nurse at Sweet Brook Nursing Home in Williamstown and in the office at Hunter Machine. While in high school, she worked at Sprague Electric Co. She lived at Brooks Heights in Clarksburg and, after selling the family home, relocated to Hollywood, Fla. She moved to Great Barrington in 1990. She was a communicant of St. Peter's Church. She was a choir member at the Notre Dame parish in North Adams and a member of the Renew Club at St. Francis' Church in North Adams. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. Her husband of 59 years, Lawrence A. Trudeau, whom she married on June 10, 1946, at Notre Dame Church in North Adams, died Feb. 24, 2005. She leaves a son, Mark L. Trudeau, of Tallahassee, Fla.; three daughters, Michelle Kuzia and Mary Auger, both of Great Barrington, and Susan Groshong of Dalton; two sisters, Yvonne Simon of Woodford, Vt., and Lorraine Martin of Bennington, Vt.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Jeannette E. Trudeau, who died Monday, July 23, 2007, will be held Thursday, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church by the Rev. William Murphy, pastor. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Family will receive friends at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Thursday prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy in Jeannette's memory be made to St. Peter's Restoration Fund or for Mass intentions in Jeannette's name in care of the funeral home. Jeannette was predeceased by a brother, Oliver Brooks, and two sisters, Alice Chouinard and Rachel Garner.
