Robert John Morin

Robert John Morin, 74, of 92 Orchard St., died yesterday at home after a long illness. Born in North Adams on Sept. 5, 1932, son of Romanus and Helen Albert Morin, he graduated from Drury High School in 1950. He served in the Air Force from Nov. 25, 1952, to Oct. 4, 1956, as a member of the Air Police Unit. He served in France and Germany After the service, Mr. Morin entered the Boston School of Auto Technology and subsequently established the firm of Honest Bob's Auto Sales in North Adams. He retired in 1985. He was a member of the Racing Pigeon Association for 60 years. He and his wife, the former Emma M. Wooley, celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary June 19. Besides his wife, he leaves a stepson, Kevin Jody Filion of Adams; a stepdaughter, Michele D. Duquette of Adams; four step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- In accordance with the directions of Mr. Robert J. Morin, who died Tuesday, July 24, 2007, there will be no formal funeral or visitation period. A graveside committal will occur at a later date, which will be accorded for family and friends. MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements. He also leaves several nieces and a nephew. A brother, Donald Morin, is deceased.
