Carol Ann LeClaire

Carol Ann LeClaire, 72, of Wells Road died Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Cheshire on Jan. 10, 1935, daughter of Oliver and Ethel Amadon Chaput, she attended Cheshire and Adams schools and was a 1953 graduate of the former Adams High School. Mrs. LeClaire was employed by General Electric Co. in the ordnance division as an information processing group leader for 37 years, retiring in 1990. She was a communicant and active member of St. Mary's Church and a member of its Merry Maids. She was also a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs, and the Cheshire Garden Club and the Yankee Pride Quilters Guild. She and her husband, Clement D. LeClaire, celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary June 26. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Donald O. LeClaire of Hinsdale and Dennis M. LeClaire of the town of Florida; a daughter, Lisa M. Meczywor of Adams; a sister, Marie E. Clement of Cheshire; and three grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Carol Ann LeClaire, who died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, will be celebrated Saturday, Aug. 4, at 9 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church by the Rev. David R. Raymond, pastor. Burial will follow in Cheshire Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. LeClaire are suggested to St. Mary of the Assumption Church Building Fund or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, both in care of DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, P.O. Box 445, Cheshire. Mrs. LeClaire, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, also leaves her daughters-in-law, Susan Slattery (Donald) and Susan Bouchard (Dennis); her son-in-law, Michael Meczywor; her grandchildren, Michelle, Nicole and Christopher O'Boyle; her beloved cat, "Buddy"; and many other family members and friends, all of whom she held dear to her heart. Her brother, Robert O. Chaput, died in 2000.
