Olga J. Hayer

Olga J. Hayer, 93, formerly of 34 Anthony St., died Wednesday at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown. Born in Adams on May 18, 1914, daughter of John and Sophie Gowadska Golka, she attended local schools. At the age of 14, she was employed by the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates. She also worked for the former Sprague Electric Co. and the former Hunter Outdoor Products, both in North Adams, for several years, retiring in 1978. Mrs. Hayer was a communicant of St. Thomas' Church. Her husband, Robert G. Hayer, whom she married Sept. 4, 1944, died Aug. 27, 1996. She leaves a daughter, Kathleen Molloy of Ballston Spa, N.Y., and two grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service and burial for Olga J. Hayer, who died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Bellevue Cemetery in Adams by the Rev. Mr. Robert R. Moulton, deacon of the Catholic Community of Adams. There will be no calling hours. Flowers are welcome or, as a friend and rescuer of animals, donations in her memory may be made to Tundra Spirits Siberian Husky Rescue, P.O. Box 351, Galway, NY 12074. TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME in Adams is in charge of arrangements. She leaves two grandsons, Timothy Molloy of New York City and Curran Molloy of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; four nieces, Joan Kurpaska and her husband, Anthony, Marcia Zoito and her husband, Vincent, Barbara Solari and her husband, Peter, and Marie Dubis and her husband, Daniel; and three nephews, Emerson Vittone and his wife, Kathy, Wayne Golka and Roger Uchman; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Adam, Louis, Walter and Frank Golka, and by three sisters, Stacia Vittone, Mary Casuselli and Geneva Uchman.
