Rosalie B. Stevens

Rosalie B. Stevens, 92, of Curtis Manor, formerly of 443 Old Windsor Road, died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center. She had resided at Curtis Manor for four years. Born in Dalton on March 1, 1915, daughter of Otto and Lydia Keller Bachli, she was a 1933 graduate of the former Dalton High School. Mrs. Stevens was employed by the former A.H. Rice Co. for 24 years, retiring in 1980 as personnel manager. She enjoyed walking, reading, swimming and listening to classical music. Her husband, Theodore R. Stevens, whom she married Jan. 7, 1940, died in 1985. She leaves two daughters, the Rev. Judy Johnson of Astoria, Ore., and Theodora Carter of Worthington; a son, William B. Stevens of Latham, N.Y.; two sisters, Alice Way of Rochester, N.Y., and Lillian Shelsy of Pittsfield; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Kenneth F. Stevens, on Aug. 14, 1995. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Rosalie B. Stevens, who died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at BARTLETT WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME in Dalton. Burial will be in Main Street Cemetery, Dalton. She leaves five grandchildren, Neal, Sally, Jill, Drew and Timothy, and four great-grandchildren, Abigail, Tegan, Becca and Maia. She was predeceased by a sister, Lydia, and by two brothers, Jacob "Butch" and David. Donations in her memory may be made to the Kenneth F. Stevens Scholarship Fund or to the charity of the donor's choice, both in care of the funeral home, 525 Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
