Eleanor P. Rosenhein

Eleanor P. Rosenhein, 93, of 115 North St. died Saturday at home after a long illness. Born in Hoosick Falls, N.Y., on April 11, 1914, daughter of Merrill and Eleanor Humphrey Powell, she moved to Pittsfield with her family in 1926 and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1931. Mrs. Rosenhein was employed as an assistant to Dr. Henry R. Higley from 1932 to 1940. She was a member of Dalton Congregational Church and a longtime head of its flower committee. She enjoyed gardening and doing crossword puzzles. Her husband, David J. Rosenhein, whom she married Dec. 17, 1938, died May 29, 1994. She leaves a daughter, Gwen R. Szukala of Dalton; a son, Bruce P. Rosenhein of Dalton; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Eleanor P. Rosenhein, who died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, will be private and at the convenience of the family. She leaves four grandchildren, Bruce R. and Brian J. Rosenhein, and Zachary A. and Amy K. Szukala, and four great-grandchildren, Alexander, Cole, Eric and Drew Rosenhein.
