Frank Audino

Frank Audino, 89, of 215 Oak St., Housatonic, died yesterday at home. Born in New Castle, Pa., on Jan. 1, 1918, son of Joseph and Theresa Retort Audino, he attended local schools. He moved to Housatonic in 1945. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Audino was employed as a fireman for the New Haven Railroad, then worked as a carpenter and a stone worker for 10 years at the Marian Fathers in Stockbridge. Later, he was self-employed as a finish carpenter, retiring in 1992. He and his wife, the former Helen Pothul, were married Dec. 27, 1944, at All Saints' Church. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Karen Guidi of South Egremont and Sandy Audino of Sheffield; two sisters, Josephine Cubellis and Nellie Arena, both of New Castle; three grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Susan, in 1947. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Frank Audino, who died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church in Housatonic by the Rev. William Murphy, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery. Family will receive friends today from 4 to 7 p.m. at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME. Expressions of sympathy in Frank's memory may be made to Fairview Hospital or to the Corpus Christi Ramp Fund, both in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. He also leaves his daughters' fiancés, Bill VanDeusen (Karen) and Eric Smith (Sandy); three grandsons, Michael Kellogg, Ryan Guidi and Sean Smith; two stepgrandchildren, Mark Guidi and Nicole Brown. He also was predeceased by a sister, Rose Morella, and by three brothers, Charles, Dominick and Frederick.
