Barbara Louise Cooper

Barbara Louise Cooper, 80, of Castle Hill in Glendale died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Hillsdale, N.Y., on Jan. 31, 1927, daughter of John and Minnie Pedell Brusie, she attended local schools and graduated from Roeliff-Jansen High School and Albany Business College. She was a member of the Glendale Fire Department Women's Auxiliary and enjoyed flower gardening. She and her husband, Gerald R. Cooper, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 29. They moved to Glendale after their marriage. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Linda A. Van Jura of Lenox and JoAnne L. Snell of Stockbridge; a son, Garry R. Cooper of Glendale; three brothers, Howard J. Brusie of Millerton, N.Y., Richard H. Brusie of Copake Falls, N.Y., and Gerald J. Brusie of Hillsdale, N.Y.; and a sister, Sheila A. Finger of Lincolndale, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Barbara L. Cooper, who died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, will be conducted tomorrow at 11 a.m. at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington by the Rev. Charles Van Ausdall. Burial will follow in Stockbridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends tomorrow from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. She also leaves two sons-in-law, Gary Van Jura and Bill Snell; six grandchildren, Jed Van Jura, Lisa Smalley, Stefan Van Jura, and Sherri, Katelyn and Christopher Cooper; and five great-grandchildren.
