Gladys Monica Alibozek

Gladys Monica Alibozek, 93, of 49 North Summer St., died Thursday at Sweet Brook Care Center in Williamstown. Born in Adams on May 19, 1914, daughter of Mikolaj and Zofia Juras Salisz, she attended local schools, including St. Stanislaus Elementary School and the former Adams High School. Mrs. Alibozek was employed by General Electric Co. in the ordnance division for 10 years, retiring in 1979. Before that, she worked for the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co., and the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church and was a member of its Rosary Sodality. She was also a member of the Adams Senior Citizens. Her husband, Walter Alibozek, whom she married April 23, 1934, died Dec. 24, 1976. Mrs. Alibozek leaves two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A daughter, Vivian Parsons, died March 22, 2003. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Gladys Monica Alibozek, who died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. at PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus' Church. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus' Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours are Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Members of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Sodality will meet at the funeral home at 4:40 p.m. on Monday to pay their respects and recite the rosary. Mrs. Alibozek also leaves a son-in-law, William Parsons of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Theodore, Francis and Casimer Salisz; and by three sisters, Helen Armata, Sally Wisniowski,and Jessie Kordana.
