Gladys I. Jackson

Gladys I. Jackson, 94, formerly of 75 Swamp Road, died Wednesday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility, where she had been a resident since April 2005. Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 9, 1912, daughter of Frederick A. and Lillian Richards Nicholas, she attended Berkshire School in Sheffield. Mrs. Jackson was employed in many private homes as a nurse. She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Her husband, James N. Jackson, whom she married on Nov. 24, 1931, died Aug. 25, 1993. Mrs. Jackson leaves two sisters, Mildred Turville of Los Angeles and Frances Barrington of Meriden, Conn. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Graveside services for Gladys I. Jackson, who died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Pittsfield Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires care of the WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 0201. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
