Charlotte Mae McCann

Charlotte Mae McCann, 73, of 58 Mohawk Forest Blvd. died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in North Adams on Oct. 29, 1933, daughter of Benjamin and Pauline Summerlin Griffin, she attended schools in Williamstown and was a 1952 graduate of Williamstown High School. She also graduated from Charles H. McCann Technical High School's licensed practical nurse program and in 1984 from the former North Adams State College, now Massacusetts College of Liberal Arts. Mrs. McCann was employed as a licensed practical nurse at area nursing homes,. Before that, she worked at the former Williamstown National Bank. She was a member of the Northern Berkshire Mineral Club and enjoyed quilting, gardening and bird-watching. Her former husband, Charles McCann Jr., is deceased. She leaves a daughter, Dianna Pikul of Cheshire; two sons, Charles McCann III of Pittsfield and Steven McCann of Lanesborough; a brother, Frederick Griffin of Bakersfield, Calif.; a sister, Gladys "Carol" McCauley of Easthampton; and six grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Charlotte McCann, who died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel in Williamstown. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Elder Services in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247. She leaves six grandchildren, Matthew, Keith and Deane McCann, Kimberly and Erik Pikul and Donald Hilton. She was predeceased by three sisters, Betty Hogan, Constance Crippa and Shirley Carrasquillo, and two brothers, Darrell and Ronald Brown.
