Donald Vincent Kenney, 85, of 155 Hillsdale Road died Monday at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington. Born in New York on April 9, 1922, son of Charles and Mamie McGuire Kenney, he attended schools there, including New York University for two years. He graduated from Parsons School of Design and New York School of Interior Design. An interior designer and decorator, Mr. Kenney was employed by Dancker and Sellew Inc., Alessi Bros., J.G. Furniture Co. and International Contract Furnishings, all in New York. He also owned Unicorn Antiques Inc., which he sold in 1966. He and his wife, the former Franziska M. Rekowski, were married April 10, 1969, in Manhattan, N.Y., and their marriage was blessed at a Mass on Aug. 2, 1969, at Our Lady of the Valley Church in Sheffield. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial Mass for Donald V. Kenney, who died Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Great Barrington by the Rev. William Murphy, pastor. Burial will follow in the spring in his family plot in Austria. There will be no calling hours. Expressions of sympathy in Donald's memory may be made to the St. Peter's Renovation Fund, in care of BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230, which is in charge of arrangements.
