Jane E. Landry, 80, formerly of Pittsfield, died Wednesday at Sentara Nursing Home in Barco, N.C., where she had resided for two years. She moved to Tennessee in 1987 and to North Carolina in 2003. Born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., on June 18, 1927, daughter of Frederick and Vera Reinharth Merkle, she attended schools there. Mrs. Landry was employed by the former New England Furniture Co., retiring in 1987. Before that, she worked for Goodwill Industries. She enjoyed crocheting. Her husband, whom she married Sept. 21, 1950, died in 1989. She leaves a daughter, Patricia White of Salvo, N.C.; a son, Thomas Landry of Pittsfield; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Jane E. Landry, who died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Smiths Chapel Cemetery in Cookeville, Tenn. Donations in memory of Mrs. Landry may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to a charity of one's choice. Mrs. Landry also leaves a son-in-law, Gabriel White; a daughter-in-law, Noreen Landry; three grandchildren, Daniel, Jonathan and Stephanie Landry; and five great-grandchildren, Amber, Benjamin, Isabella, Caroline and Simon; two nieces, Alice and Pamela Landry; and her beloved Kat Boy.
