Alan Joseph Morris, 53, of 16 Freeman Ave. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 13, 1954, son of Alice Dennett Morris and the late Arthur J. Morris Jr., he attended schools in Hancock and later received his General Education Development diploma. He also attended the former North Adams State College. Mr. Morris was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in Germany. At the time of his death, he was employed by Caleb Corp. as supervisor of maintenance at the Mohawk Forest housing development. He had worked there for 15 years. He enjoyed cookouts and lifting weights. He and his wife, the former Donna M. Brazeau, were married Aug. 13, 2000, at Windsor Lake. Besides his wife and mother, of Lee, he leaves a son, Army Sgt. Johnnie Morris, stationed in Iraq; a daughter, Jenny Carey of North Adams; three stepdaughters, Christina Brazeau of North Adams, Leah-Jean Bombardier of Adams and Jackie Granger of North Adams; three brothers, David Morris, Steven Morris and Christopher Morris, all of Lee; and six grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Alan J. Morris, who died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Greylock Animal Hospital's stray fund, in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Morris enjoyed caring for animals.
