William H. Johnson, 73, of 190 Farnum Road, Lakeville, Conn., died Saturday at Sharon (Conn.) Hospital. Born in Great Barrington on Nov. 16, 1934, son of Harold and Evelyn Vickers Johnson, he attended local schools. Mr. Johnson was employed by Sheffield Plastics as a machine operator, retiring in 1995. He and his wife, the former Geraldine Slaughter, were married in 1975. Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Michael Johnson of Pittsfield, Sean Johnson of Canaan, Conn., and Lance Johnson of Lakeville, Conn.; a stepson, Alphonso Rice of New Haven, Conn.; four sisters, Evelyn Fowlkes of Lakeville, Conn., Jennie James of Pittsfield, and Hattie Johnson and Catherine Allen, both of Sheffield. He was predeceased by a son, Samuel Henry Johnson. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for William H. Johnson, who died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007 will be private and at the convenience of the family, in keeping with William's wishes. There will be no calling hours. BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, is in charge of the arrangements. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
