Walter Francis Kuczynski

Walter Francis Kuczynski, 86, of San Francisco, a former resident of Adams, died Saturday at Lawton Health Care Center in San Francisco. Born in Fall River on Sept. 18, 1921, son of Boleslaus C. and Bertha Nowak Kuczynski, he attended grammar schools in Fall River until moving to Adams, where he graduated from the former Adams High School in 1940. An Army veteran of World War II, he served as a medical corpsman on a hospital ship in the Pacific theater and Philippines. After his military service, he lived in Japan. After returning to Adams, he was employed by the family-operated Standard Pharmacy as a clerk. In 1950, he returned to Japan in 1950 and settled in Tokyo, where he operated a sporting goods store. In 1975, he moved to San Francisco, where he was a Realtor. His wife, the former Maria Debreto, died in 2002. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Richard Kuczynski of San Fran -cisco; and a sister, Evelyn B. Harrison of Adams. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Walter Francis Kuczynski, who died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, were held in San Francisco. He also leaves a brother-in-law, Chester Harrison. He was predeceased by two brothers, Edwin and William Kuczynski. Mr. Kuczynski was an avid walker and enjoyed roaming the streets and greeting friends during his walks.
