Barbara Sprague, 80
POWNAL, Vt. - Barbara Sprague, 80, of 227 Valley View Drive, a former longtime resident of Readsboro, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.
Born in New Rochelle, N.Y., on Jan. 28, 1927, daughter of Russell and Kathleen Davis Hubley, she moved to Monroe, Mass., as a child. She attended schools there and graduated from Drury High School in North Adams, Mass., in 1945.
Mrs. Sprague was a homemaker. At one time, she was employed by the former Deerfield Glassine Co.
She was an active member of Readsboro Baptist Church and a longtime volunteer at North Adams Regional Hospital.
She and her husband, Llewellyn "Skee" Sprague, were married March 22, 1947.
Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Christine Hardman and her husband, James, of Orleans, Mass., and Bonnie Millis and her husband, Glenn, of Ballston Lake, N.Y.; and five grandchildren, Brooke Hardman Ditchfield, Hilary Henning, James C. Hardman, Carrie Babe and Katie Millis.
FUNERAL NOTICE - The funeral for Mrs. Sprague will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Readsboro Baptist Church. Burial will take place at a later date. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass.
Memorial donations are suggested to the American Heart Association or to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, both through the funeral home.
